ARE YOU A METROSEXUAL? The seat or buttocks mat, once worn by men in several areas of Borneo, Sulawesi and Maluku, represents a transition between mats and clothing. Attached by a cord around the waist and usually worn in combination with a loin cloth, it was both practical and provided a vehicle for fine decoration.
